Caldmore Traders Association (CTA) is made up of representatives from local business in Caldmore and the surrounding areas of Walsall.
We know the ins and outs of the local economy and business community better than anyone and can advise you on who you might need to speak to if you have specific questions.
CTA have a formal line of communication with the local council and regularly meet to discuss local issues that are affecting the business community as a whole. For example, we may lobby the local government to review the parking conditions around the local area to encourage a greater flow of customers, or perhaps discuss other issues that are important to you.
Other examples might include the rubbish collection, promoting local events (like the Caldmore Village Festival and The Walsall Mela), maintenance issues (eg, cracked footpaths or poor street lighting), or perhaps governance issues such as the goods on footpath policy.
We also have strong relationships with the local councillors (who are the elected representatives, as opposed to the administrative body which is the council itself), who are able to highlight the concerns on behalf of our members directly to council officers and if the runnings of council are confusing you, we will be able to help you make sense of them!
As a group of people we have much more influence with the local authorities than a single voice, so it’s wise to consult with us before you attempt to do something by yourself.
It’s also a great way to get in touch with people experiencing similar challenges and issues to yourself – it’s a great feeling to know that you’re not alone out there!
